Senate elects new leadership for key Committees

The Senate has concluded elections for leadership positions in several key committees, with various senators unanimously chosen to steer critical legislative functions.
In the Standing Committee on National Security, Defence, and Foreign Relations, Senator Fatuma Dullo (Isiolo) has been elected as the chairperson, while Senator (Prof.) Tom Ojienda (Kisumu) will serve as the vice chairperson.

The Standing Committee on Trade, Tourism, and Industrialisation will be led by Senator Issa Boy Juma (Kwale) as Chairperson, with Senator Esther Okenyuri (Nominated) taking the role of Vice Chairperson.

The Senate Committee on Labour and Social Welfare has reaffirmed its confidence in Senator Julius Murgor (West Pokot) by re-electing him as Chairperson, while Senator Crystal Asige has been elected Vice Chairperson.
In the Justice, Legal Affairs, and Human Rights (JLAHR) Committee, Senator Hillary Sigei (Bomet) has been re-elected as Chairperson, with Senator Veronica Maina taking over as Vice Chairperson. The committee has also welcomed new members, Senators Tom Ojienda, Dan Maanzo, and Crystal Asige.
For the Standing Committee on Land, Environment, and Natural Resources, Senator Mohamed Faki (Mombasa) has been elected as Chairperson, while Senator Karen Nyamu (Nominated) will serve as Vice Chairperson.
Lastly, the Standing Committee on Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) has re-elected Senator Allan Chesang (Trans Nzoia) as Chairperson and Senator Miraj Abdulrahman (Nominated) as Vice Chairperson.
